Tight Lines!

Updated 08/10/2019

Recent stocking of 1000 8-10inch carp into Magpie Lake.

Our club is based around the villages of Waterbeach and Landbeach, just 5 miles North of Cambridge.

Our waters include sections of the River Cam and the Old West River. We have our own still-water complex in Waterbeach Road, Landbeach, this includes Leland Water, Atkins Water, Magpie Lake and shortly Dodd's Water.. We also have the Lagoons next to the Old West River near the Lazy Otter at Chittering.

The River Cam is a slow flowing Fenland River that meanders through the Cambridgeshire countryside. It has vast shoals of bream plus quality roach, tench, perch and is probably the best river in the country at present for very big rudd. The River banks are easily accessible although some sections can be fairly long walk but it's well worth the effort.

The Old West River like the Cam is a slow flowing Fenland River with the same species throughout our short length. We have 3 lagoons attached to the river that are sheltered and usually full of fish. The lagoons have the added advantage that they can be fished during the close season.

Leland Water is a pristine lake of around 5 acres, it has specimen Carp, Pike, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach and Perch.  This water is not fishable on the club card and day tickets are no longer available. There is a waiting list for new members contact j_martin_@hotmail.co.uk to put your name forward.

Rex Atkins Water is a smaller lake with all the above species but no Pike.  It is a moat shaped water, used for both matches and for pleasure fishing.  A prolific water that can be fished on the club card which runs from April 1st to March 31st each year. Carp to 20lb are the main attraction to Atkins. No Keep nets to be used at anytime. The fishery has landing nets and unhooking mats available for your use, please do not use your own. Thank you.

Magpie Lake is again a moat shape lake which produces phenomenal catches of mainly Carp. A sheltered, intimate fishery that can be fished in all weathers.  Many  fish to well into double figures can be caught here. For those big catches try a day at Magpie you won't regret it.  Day ticket only available on the bank. No Keep nets to be used at anytime. The fishery has landing nets and unhooking mats available for your use, please do not use your own. Thank you.

Dodd's Water is in the process of construction and will be available to fish in approximately 18 months to 2 years time. It will a be a silver fish only fishery of approximately 1/2 acre so there will be limited swim access. The water is a lined lake and as such there will be a no bank sticks allowed. Watch this space for a progress report.
Match fishing is available to clubs looking for excellent results. Lakes and pegs need to be booked in advance  by calling or texting our match secretary on 07884 072313

The club supplies keep nets and landing nets for matches on Magpie Lake. If fishing a match on Atkins all nets and mats must be dipped prior to fishing.
